Paris Partner Joseph Smallhoover was quoted Oct. 6 by Les Echos regarding a recent European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling that says a system enabling data transfers from the European Union to the United States by thousands of companies is invalid. This decision opens the way to verify that data being transferred to the U.S. is protected from snooping by the U.S. government. “In the short term, there is a risk of litigation in other countries attacking data transfers,” Smallhoover told the publication.
